Did the coaching staff and team mail it in in Birmingham?
You mean against Army in Dallas.
This is what's post was alluding to as the other bowl we would have been slated to be invited to as a CUSA bowl eligible team is the armed forces bowl in ft worth. Remember they laid an egg against Army in front of a sell out.

My comment was just a joke, maybe a bad one, but I want the team to win whenever and wherever it plays. And I am glad the team will be going to Hawaii. Hope they have a great time and WIN.

doesn't care who wins.

i don't care if they have a great time or not. i hope they win. that should be the MOST important thing to them. Hawaii is a trap to young kids who've never been on a vacation like that in their lives (and some may never again).
Ok this is getting ridiculous...I agree with Dutch on THIS ONE POST by him totally

but other than BCS bowls, that's about the opinion of everyone on every bowl. Win, ok, should have. lose, embarrassing.
Lol not to put us down but removing last year won over PItt (admittedly dead at the time) all the other bowls were irrelevant. So pretty much as long as a team we to a bowl with a BCS opponent. They have the same bowl streak in my books and the books of any fan who has high standards for their team. Lets face it Hawaii is nothing more than a trip for players and coaches. It does nothing for recruiting, building a fan base or prestige. I truly hope the band goes because truly they're the only ones that deserve it.

Disagree about the recruiting. Last time the game was on ESPN and many recruits mentioned watching it. SMU put on a great show (before June wrecked Padron and sent him packing to E. Wash.) and it was more or less the highlight of the June era.

Fresno has lost only 3 games and all on the road...at Oregon, Tulsa and Boise. They will be a really tough opponent and beating them would be a good finish to an otherwise disappointing season
