What we really need

Is a Phil Knight. Oregon is where they are today because of him. Same thing with Oklahoma state and Boone Pickens. And I bet Maryland will get there with the under armor guy. So the real question here is why can't SMU produce a billionaire alum who only wants to spend money on making SMU a national power. Whose pov is.....I can give the money to SMU or give it to the Government. If any school in the county is can produce a rich guy who does not want to pay taxes and has so much money that all he wants to spend it on is football.......I mean who better to produce such a person than SMU? The naughty nine had it wrong......don't pay the players, pay the program.

SMU's problem is not Money-the problem is lack of Fans. We tried to buy fans before and it doesn't work. Its is a uniquely SMU solution to a persistent problem though-let's throw money at a problem because our fans are too busy to support the program unless we finish 10-2* every year or because we don't like the Coach.

we have already tried not throwing money at it. How did that work for us?
