I learned from the recording before I even set foot under the pool. The announcer sent me CDs since we are from a similar spot in north Texas. I don't understand what you mean by liberties. Care to explain?

What invariably happens is some people get cute and start making up some harmonies, and as time goes on more and more people start singing the "harmony" part, until it gets to the point where everybody is singing the "harmony" instead of the true part.

It just needs a reset. The funny thing is, when I was in the band, we had to go through a reset as well...

The first part the melody deviates today is right at "25 feet from the Hillcrest track". (it doesn't go up)

Then again at "I'd be just as sassy as a Mustang lassie". Then, once final time, at "There's a chick waiting there".

The two recordings I have are Mustang Jazz and Red Hot 'n' Blues, and I am sure there are more!

As a band nerd I had no vocal ability before I got to the band. Having to learn the four part Varsity helped me learn quite a bit. I still leave my solo performances in my car though.

Since we're obviously not sticking to topic, does anyone miss Loyalty song? My year was the last to play it. Therefore the other songs with the same melody have suffered.
