Even if it had been Harry's personal opinion and not an excerpt from an article, the better response would have started something like this:

"I disagree, and here's why I think SMU will win."

Followed by some facts and support for your own opinion explanaining why the poster was wrong, without calling him a cracker and telling him to go back to his hole. Then there wouldn't have been a need to apologize to anyone for proving this Internet + Anonymity Theorem.

I won't try and defend my situation except to say that I am a poor freshman who understands little about all those tiny horseshoes and how all of this works...
