Zach Line offensive player of the year in cusa
SMU senior RB Zach Line was named Offensive Player of the Year, marking the first time a running back has won the award since UCF’s Kevin Smith in 2007. Line leads the league with 1,207 rushing yards, becoming the second player in SMU history (Reggie Dupard from 1983-85) and fourth back in C-USA annals to run for more than 1,000 yards in three seasons. He ran for 12 touchdowns this year, giving him 45 in his career, the second-highest total in C-USA history. Line has led the Mustangs to a school-record fourth consecutive bowl appearance as SMU prepares to face Fresno State in the Sheraton Hawai’i Bowl.

congrats to Zack. He has earned everything he may receive and look forward to seeing him at the next level. Thank you Zack for all you have done at SMU. Hope his brother is just as good.

Sweet. This is just one more for the trophy shelf(even if there's no real trophy).

Or-See-Nee, why does your pony flag fly upside down?
About 25 feet from the Hillcrest track... With the boots so tall and the writing on the wall...

A truly great Mustang ! I never envisioned this when I first saw him lumbering across the goal line at the first Hawaii Bowl and thought "who is this guy-probably the last time he'll ever see the end zone.." I hope he goes out in style this Christmas Eve....

I wonder if it is a distress signal?
Congratulations Zach Line. A well deserved award for a deserving player, one of the best in Mustang history.

Great to hear. It seems that you broke the news here before the press release went out. You must have a good source close to the story.

International sign of distress with the football program. NOT AGAINST THE PLAYERS OR THE SCHOOL.
I believe that JJ was a great hire, initially, but I feel like he's wasted opportunities here when it comes to recruiting. I thought he was the right person for the job when hired, and I was surprised and excited when he was announced. However, recruiting isn't where it needs to be. A topic that has been thoroughly discussed on here.
I felt that by year 5, we'd be competing for conference championships, not getting beat by Rice and Tulane, and have top 40 or so recruiting classes. I also envisioned a high-flyin' exciting offense and unfortunately, that hasn't happened, either.
I do give JJ credit for Mason and for Larry Brown.
It appears to me that JJ has plateaued with an inconsistent product on the field at as one of the highest paid coaches in football, I expect more.
Contrast what Larry Brown has done in year one with the bball team. I think most, if not everyone, feels that a great foundation is being set with the bball team. I don't know many who feel the same way with the football team, which makes me sad.

Very impressive, thought for sure that award would go to Rakeem Cato. Nice way for Line to cap his stellar career.

Thank you Zach for reminding me of my HS memories of #24 Mike Richardson with Chuck Hixson,
and Hayden Fry's version of the Run n Shoot. Also, you ran for at least twice as many yards as
him overall as #48.
