Agree. I just fear for his life.
I ain't never scared! I'll be around to at least 10 posts, just may take me a year since I'm more of a lurker.
I don't intend to demean the band's support and we would all do well to remember to thank the less visible student groups/teams; it's just strange to me when someone posts a "For the love of God, won't someone think of the band!" message when there are other groups (cheer, pom, soccer, volleyball, etc.) that get much less recognition but are still representing our university.
I think it's a fair point though that SMU band members are over-represented on here and thus the focus shifts more towards the band. It's great that so many of the band folks survived to become fans despite the dark days pre-June that amounted to slow water torture.

1. Many posters were in the band,so they value it - that's not a criticism 2. Band alumni are fans at a much higher rate than the general smu population - a compliment
Sorry, I was supporting you by including your comments while directing mine towards PridefulPony. I know your stance on the MB quite well.
i only made it about 10 posts in before i had to stop reading and post my opinion so sorry if this has been mentioned...
to the person that said 4th string should stay at home so the band can go:
how many games did the band have an impact on? none. 4th string, scout team, the guys never mentioned in the paper have earned this trip as much as the starters.
This trip, this privilege isnt just about the Zach Line's of the team... its also about the guys who spent the last four years pouring their heart and soul into this team. i respect the band but they reap the benefit of the 4th string players... so go [deleted] a flute

Besides, the mere mention of one part of a group not going ruffles your feathers? Oh no. This can't be! No way no how.
You know as well as I that even logistical problems don't get in the way of every football player making it onto a plane whether they played as many downs as GG or took as many snaps as the person who runs out and gives the ref some water on timeouts. Everyone, football spirit trainers etc., deserves to go and every effort should be made to make it so (Picard reference would be tongue in cheek here).

Who wants to step up and cut the first check?
I emailed Hart and said that I would give if it helped get them there. He turned me down.

You take sarcasm about as well as Sheldon
sarcasm? the band alum are some of the most sensitive posters on this board... they, as a collective whole, exude a sense of entitlement because "they stay until the end of the game." (p.s. thats what you signed up for)
Why do I have a strange feeling that you were an EE major?

?
Guess what---that is what the coaches and football team signed up for, but that hasn't stopped them leaving before "Varsity" . And, no I am not affiliated with the band or spirit squad in any way. I am a stay till the end (ugly or not) alum.
