lol, are we really debating this? obviously the higher ranked your recruiting class is, the more talent your team will have. the more talent the team has, the more likely the team gets Ws. obviously coaching plays a role, but the talent and recruiting is the biggest factor. of course there are some exceptions like texas. although the scouts/evaluators get it right most of the time, they do sometimes get it wrong.

a bad coach can destroy a good team.
a good coach can do wonders with a bad team.

how many of those six were 4 and 5 star players?
june and staff did a great job developing them.

They just didn't do a great job winning games with them and frankly the talent development at several positions was sorely lacking.

Even 5 Star players coming out of high school don't always live up to the hype at the college level...............

Sure would be nice if we could find out for ourselves if they develop or not.

The one on the team who was the #1 or #2 player in the country at his position coming out of high school hasn't lived up to the hype yet.........

The wins were against teams with 2 star players and such. Teams that SMU had more talent than regardless of development of players. And 2 losses were against lesser talented teams. Apparently SMU doesn't develop it's players any better than Rice or Tulane.
