Is it safe to say we will be looking for a new conference in a few months?

I am curious to see if we have any options besides MWC.

I say make a new conference, entice BYU to join let them keep their tv. Get the rest of big east, the new big east teams. Find some smaller divisions that have good basketball schools to add. We just need to make sure we have the best non AQ conference. It's getting scary. Can you imagine if we have to go back to cusa??? That would officially kill us and any hope of a good coach.

SI reporting that Aresco was in attendance so at least they are not pursuing this behind everyone's backs. Somewhat refreshing.

I thought this quote from ESPN was pretty telling:

"The basketball schools are not thrilled with Tulane and what they will do to the league's RPI," said a league source from a football-playing member. "They were not all that excited with that addition."

That was the stupidest idea ever! Keep the league smaller, but don't dilute the product by adding teams like Tulane.

The non-FB schools have until July 1 with a 7-3 majority (or 7-4 if Temple has full voting rights), which is enough to dissolve the conference, but not enough to expel members. Dissolving the conference is a losing proposition for them. They would lose out on millions in NCAA tournament credits and exit fees and without football they would not get anywhere close to as good a TV deal.

I think this might just be a bluff to make sure they get as much from the TV deal as possible.

If there is any way to rescind the invitation to Tulane you have to do it.

Unfortunately for Tulane this must be considered.

WTF? The basketball schools had the majority, and they specifically voted Tulane in as an all-sports member, and kept ECU out. Seems they have no one to blame but themselves.

How can you have the majority vote (7-3 BB), invite Tulane, and then complain about it? It is not as if Aresco just invites schools on his own - these are voted on by University Presidents.

As usual, ESpin is blowing this out of proportion.
