Larry Brown Goes Shopping

Postby Bergermeister » Wed Dec 12, 2012 3:23 pm

Stopped by the SMU bookstore during lunch to pick up a Hawai'i Bowl t-shirt. Was kind of surprised to see Larry Brown there in his SMU workout duds doing some heavy duty shopping. I couldn't believe the amount of SMU gear he purchased. Caps, sweats, shorts, shirts - he must be giving everyone on his list Mustang spirit stuff. Pretty cool. I was 2-back in the check-out line when I saw the clerk hand him receipt that was about 36" long - and two HUGE boxes of stuff. Gotta love the guy who chooses SMU Bookstore over NorthPark. :D

I think he is having fun, which is great for us. Brand marketing at its best.

Great report. Glad we have some decent merchandise for him to buy. He keeps doing the right stuff at this point. Very impressive.

Can't wait till the next game and the next home game December 30.

Shouldn't he be getting everything for free?

How about RoboBrown tshirts. Do you think he'd be down with those?

IMHO - June Jones' greatest failure is his failure to embrace the SMU family. Not surprisingly, we don't embrace him.

In contrast, Larry Brown seems to be loving every minute of his time on the Hilltop. While he will probably leave us at some point, he is undeniably "all in" while he with us. I can live with that.

I am sure it was Christmas gifts, hopefully for the football coaching staff.

Seriously. It is like he does every possible thing right. As a fan of SMU sports you cannot ask for a better ambassador of our athletic program. The only thing I envision he will do "wrong" is one day he will leave and we will all wish he would stay much longer.
