Basketball Schools Leaving Big East?
Report on ESPN saying the 7 basketball schools are leaning towards leaving the Big East. No word on if they would vote to dissolve the league or simply leave as a group. Also says a decision is expected within 24-48 hours.

F**king Aresco. Why the hell did they add Tulane and east Carolina? That was the straw that broke the camel's back

They have the majority of the votes at the moment, so it's their own for for unanimously voting them in. Don't get why they're so livid over it. They had the chance to block it if they wanted.

Trey was using the powers of Gamehendge to allow the show to continue, to give the band the strength it needed to help break through this barrier
Re: Basketball Schools Leaving Big East?
The Tulane and East Carolina additions never made sense to me. Boise State is a no-brainer. SMU, Temple, San Diego State, UCF, and Houston made sense because we were the best available. Memphis made sense because of basketball. Navy because of TV and academics. Tulane and ECU bring nothing! ECU has a solid program, but adds nothing to TV revenue and does nothing for the prestige of the conference. Tulane just doesn't bring any value to a tenuous league. The smart thing would have been to keep it at 10 football schools, play every team in the league, let all the teams build up their programs and then when the league has a relevant brand as it does in basketball you can think about adding some more. You add BYU and Air Force if you can, but don't add for the sake of adding. Tulane and ECU were there and would still be there for the taking in 10 years.

If its true.......wonder if it will shorten Larry Browns tenure at SMU & destroy the momentum we have in basketball?

No doubt the biggest concern. Maybe LB can call up the catholics on our behalf
Re: Basketball Schools Leaving Big East?
Now would have been the time to start contacting Tulane. Of course if they had waited to contact Tulane there probably would be no need to contact them and we would still be looking forward to playing Georgetown, Villanova, etc.
On the other hand, now would be a good time to talk to Villanova about upgrading from FCS to FBS and contacting UMASS about becoming full members.

Tulane is a total joke. . .I get that. But I don't think its fair to blame them for this. All along we've heard that if Louisville or Cincy left, that would be the straw that breaks the Big East. Louisville left, the Big East collapsed. Pretty simple and according to script. Not sure Tulane's addition is really a factor here.
