The networks would be lining up with dollars for a conference of those teams.........not! The payout would make us wish for CUSA again.

Staying put in and WINNING CUSA, then moving to B12, was always our best bet.

The Big 12 was never going to happen for us. We don't give them anything they don't already have. We'll never be in a conference with Texas again.

We have been tier 2 since the inception of the BCS system. Since then all of the money, resources, and TV sets have pointed at the AQ schools. The BCS System automatically made the AQ schools the relevant teams. If you stop and think about it, it is really remarkable what TCU accomplished. The new playoff system is just a way to create a tier 3. Where we now sit. The new tier 2 in college football is the ACC schools. The big question is ,"who joins them?" I can imagine scenarios where all of the remaining conferences except the big ten and sec could fall into tier 2. This almost guarantees more access for the SEC or access for the Big Ten.

TCU certainly didn't listen to that crap-talk.

TCU got lucky that the Big 12 was desperate and needed to get back to 10. Now that the Big 12 is stable with a long term GOR they don't need any more adds inside territory they already dominate, now it's about expanding their footprint. I mean if you were running the Big 12 would you bother adding SMU? All this "Rah Rah GO SMU" stuff is adorable albeit naive but it won't get us in a Big 4 conference.

without the decision to move to the Big East, I doubt we get Larry Brown to come in here and help re-establish SMU hoops. Let's just hope we can get that done quickly and then sustain a top 25 program no matter what conference we end up in

I was in El Paso last Wednesday Night driving HB Pony Daughter and her automobile back to HB. We stayed at The Camino Real with the super cool "DOME BAR" and not a soul in the Hotel had a clue that USC was coming to town for the SUN BOWL! WOW! JUST WOW!

TCU had great timing and had a program on the rise. The Big 12 does not want more than four teams in Texas. If not for Aggies institutional little brother complex, the Frogs would be stuck in this boat with us....albeit weighted down with a lot more trophies. Unfortunately I am not sure what we will be able to do, with an anemic fan base, stagnant program, and no major political clout I am afraid we are stuck. I have a nightmare vision of dropping out of the FBS.

I enjoyed watching USC the last time they were in the Sun Bowl. Carson Palmer and his friends couldn't get to the locker room fast enough.

now that the bball only schools have decided to leave, I'd sure like to see us build a "full membership" group. Wonder if they could pull this off?
East: UConn, Cincy, Temple, ECU, USF, UCF, Memphis
West: SMU, Houston, BYU, Boise, SDSU, New Mexico, UNLV
That leaves Bowl games in Memphis, NYC, St Pete, Boise, NM & Las Vegas to compete for
