Plenty of blame for all in Big East breakup

Interesting take on the defections from the Big East, starting with Miami, VT and BC. ACC started the arms race and now must fight for legitimacy.

Good find. People tend to forget that The Big East was pretty badass from the mid 90's to early-mid 2000's. Again, I suspect money ruined that too.

However my memory is fuzzy, why exactly did three schools bail on the Bis East at the same time when the conference was doing so well in both mainstream sports?
