Coug, y'all did not manage to beat too many others besides Tulane and Rice. Hard to believe you are still talking snack after the beat down we put in y'all. 42 pints doesn't mean much when you give up 72.

Only 2 less wins than SMU.

Old Coug mist not have gotten what he wanted for Christmas he seems kind of grinchy this morning. Maybe he will feel better if Houston can win their bowl game.

What? Oh, I'm sorry.

SMU will likely be an underdog in nine out of 12 games next year. Probably only favorites in Temple, UConn and Memphis. Maybe that's a good thing. :D However, six wins is going to be tough. We'll be going up against probably eight bowl bound teams (sorry Houston) in those nine games and will need to find a way to upset a few and no letdowns against Temple, UConn, and Memphis...will be tough sledding. I think it can be done, though, if the defensive replacements for this year's seniors come through. Congrats to this year's team for finishing strong!!! And, good luck to our 2013 Ponies.

Maybe we can get all of the games played in Hawaii, SMU seems to play pretty well there

For good or bad, next years team will be as good as GG makes it.

We lose our best players - almost all of them - and it is going to be up to him to make up for it. He won't have the best FB in the nation to help him, loses his best receiver, and the talented D will be drastically different. It's going to be his team.

Next year we will have new best players. That is the way it should always be. Do not rebuild, reload.

Boise State, to me, is the cream of the crop. San Diego State won AT Boise this year. Houston should be better. Temple should be decent. I don't see how we're anything close to a favorite to win the Big East next year, especially with more significant losses to graduation this year than we have had in decades.

Of course, I feared we might get smoked last night in Hawaii, and the guys shut me up in a big way. Here's hoping they make me look like a fool again next year with a strong season!

Man, I'm ready for spring ball already, and leopold is right - the team is as good in 2013 as Gilbert makes it. He got so much better down the stretch. I can't wait to see what he'll do with a year of getting comfortable and spring ball.

DH- I agree with your thoughts. One thing that kind of worries me is keeping coach Mason. He has done a pretty good job. I think the way the D performed in the bowl game is going to impress a lot of coaches needing a good DC. I can't imagine some other schools not being after him.
