Did the MVP award go to the right person?
We all can agree that Margus Hunt was sensational last night, and suggesting he didn't deserve the award would be idiotic.
But should the award have been split between Margus and Taylor Reed? A game-high 9 tackles, 3 tackles for loss, a fumble recovery (for 9 yards), a sack and an interception that he returned 69 yards for a touchdown ... T-Reed had one hell of a night!

Margus earned it over Tank. Tank played great, but Margus played better.

I certainly can't argue that - Margus was unblockable, even when they put 2 OR SOMETIMES 3 guys on him.

Hunt took them out of their rhythm and they never recovered. I am sure you saw them having to use 3 to block him. That freed up other rushers which in turn hurried Carr which resulted in interceptions. The whole defense played great and Reed was outstanding but Margus set the tone for the entire game.

OK, you guys have convinced me! Reed was great, but Hunt was on another level.

Right, and because of what Margus did early in the game, it had Carr seeing ghosts the rest of the game.mrydel wrote:Hunt took them out of their rhythm and they never recovered. Margus had the award locked up in the 1st half.

I'm a huge T Reed fan and hope he gets drafted.
I hope SMU marketing gets proactive knowing they are about to get a lot of pub from the Margus Hunt frenzy that is no doubt going to occur over the next few months . . .

With a little luck we could have quite a few players get drafted or be FAs. IMO we are really going to miss this D. Thank you coach Mason.

Reed was awesome - what a great way for him to go out. His tap in the fumble to ensure that he recovered was brilliant.
That being said Margus was unreal. He literally destroyed that Right tackle. The look in Carr's eyes by the third quarter told you all you needed to know about the game and what the D and particularly Margus did to him. He was Shell Shocked. Don't see that look much in football, but you saw it Christmas eve.
