CSU, NM attempting to form new league with BYU, BSU

Post by Water Pony »

One reason to start a new league is to create the most powerful league out of the "Group of five," and to get more money than they are currently getting from the Mountain West. Another option mentioned in the article is to have the Mountain West somehow retain more of the rights from CBS so that they can sell them their selves.

Another view of the importance of getting BSU and BYU at the center of a new conference and/or TV deal for MWC

The idea is that CSU and UNM are continuing to work behind the scenes to be the better option for the BE than the rumors circulating about Fresno and UNLV. This would lock in Boise State and increases the chances for BYU or Air Force are included.

I haven't read anything about them, but I can't see them replacing UNLV or Fresno. I'll bet there's more people in Vegas then in the state of NM.
