BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!

For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.

I believe there is a picture in the "Mustang Insider" that's e-mailed out, but I don't have it at my office. Maybe some one else can post it.

Didn't make it to the dedication this morning, but did go by and see it afterwards. It really does look good, great addition to the front enterance of Moody.

A clean-up of the Moody facade would make for an improved backdrop for the Mustangs.

Had a 'last-minute' emergency at the house & was unable to attend. Plan to drive by later today or tomorrow to take a look at the newest addition on campus.

The Mustangs are in a temporary place until the new Frat houses are built and the parking garage is completed on Binkley and Airline. Then the Mustangs will be moved to Binkley. Also, the expansion plans for Moody will change the facade, so there is no need for a face cleaning right now. It would be a waste of money.
Just send 'da money.

They spent 3 months tearing up the sidewalk in front of Moody just for it be a temporary location? Looks pretty permanent to me, and I don't see the benefit of moving it from front and center of Moody to next to the new parking garage.
From high on the hilltop, in Big D...

What's your source for this information, DiamondM75? It doesn't make sense to dedicate something and then move it.

I have close connections with the people in charge of this project. Since the Carpenters wanted to give the Mustangs to celebrate their 25th wedding aniversary, the university had to accept the statues now. Although this is a temporary place, the Mustangs will be there for several years, until the Frat houses are built and the parking garage is complete. This is probably 2 to 3 years away.

If someone wants to give to you now, you accept the gift. If you need the gift at a later date, accept it now, find a place for it, then do the permanent later.
Just send 'da money.

They should have just put it on the corner of airline and binkley, then they wouldn't have to move it.

and when exactly is this expansion of Moody which makes improving the facade a waste of money? I realize it takes money that we may not have, but until we do, people outta stop referring to the project as real. Its no more than pie in the sky plans at this point as far as I can tell.

Having said all that, I have a hard time believing SMU cannot either raise or come up with money for such a high profile project. Moody is one of the faces of the university, it holds alot of events other than just Mustang basketball too. Or it could. I've never criticized Copeland, but something needs to get done, now. We cant even seem to slap a coat of paint on the places that need it over in Moody. This is ridiculous.
