Your Ponyfan.com 2012 memory
As we take time to reflect upon the year that was, and look forward to the possibilities that will be, what is your best 2012 memory from Ponyfans.com?

Finally getting to see a game at Ford. Although we didn't win, I got to see a Heisman Trophy winner breakout.

The posts related to our Big East Invitation.
Despite the continuing chaos of conference realignment, the fact that SMU is a national brand worthy of inclusion demonstrated progress has been made. Although we continue to be subject to the whims of fortune (for which are not necessarily at fault), SMU is in a much better place.
I am more optimistic about our future, whereas, six months ago we felt were still a victim.

I agree that the Big East invite resulted in a sense of "belonging". The Larry Brown hire, along with JJ, said we're serious about big time sports. The next big moment will be when JJ leaves and the quality of the new HC in football and keeping the commitment to winning. We have very little control over becoming Dallas' team, but the administration and staff can control our becoming Boise/TCU-like high level winners.

I like how you're thinking. I have no idea why I feel so strongly about our chances but I feel like we will get invited to the Pac-16 along with UH. Our markets cannot be ignored.DiamondM75 wrote:Our invite to the PAC xx.

My favorite SMU memory of the year was the LB hiring and getting to attend a practice ran by the Godfather. That was great.

Mention of the KP site. I immediately went to join there so now I have two windows open simultaneously and post in both forums. Two heads are better than 1.
Also our Houston victory. Excellent defense performance that was immediately recognized by fans here. Proof that fans here rightly believe defense wins championships.

The first video interviews with Garrett Gilbert and Stavion Lowe, and the video with Jeryl Sasser at Larry Brown's hiring.
