the only town in Texas that has a museum that was once a whorehouse. La Grange doesn't even have that!

Jensen's cousin is Justin Rogers.
And I hear the numbers are a little off -- I was told he's taller than 6'5", and a hair under 300. And he's never lifted weights in his life. Supposedly he's one of those "naturally strong" guys. He'll be interesting to watch -- hope this works out.
Taller than 6'5", just under 300 and never lifted weights? To quote Phil the Showkiller: "Wow."
And speaking of Rogers, did anyone else at the Red/Blue game notice how much bigger he is? Rumor has it he's around 255, after ending last season at (or maybe even below) 220. That's some serious offseason weights work. And some serious eating.
I like the quote, and I agree with it. However, I disagree, at least partially, with your assessment that someone who never has lifted weights doesn't have the needed work ethic or "want to." In some cases, high schools do not require lifting (I suppose there are some that don't even have weights because of budget issues or something). I know nothing about the high school where this Jensen guy played, so I don't know. But there certainly are stories about guys who came to SMU before without lifting - or at least without lifting much - in high school. Chris Urbanus, Darrin Johnson, Kenard Burley - all reportedly didn't have to lift in high school because they were so much bigger than their opponents. Their sheer size allowed them to succceed. Maybe that's the case with this guy. My stance here would be to see him play - and lift - for a year at Tyler, then get three seasons out of a very big, presumably very strong player. Can't get enough big guys.
