SMU vs Tulsa

Basketball (just a reminder) Tonight at 7! If you haven't seen them yet come out and catch the game. Could use a good crowd. Winnable game if we bring our "A" game!

Good crowd tonight. Too bad we didn't convert.

I checked the score at halftime as I was at another event. Well, that one's over, I thought. Simply amazing we came back.

After a lackluster first half, the guys really hustled and scrapped for the ole Alma Mater in the second half. Makes you proud of them. I'm sure Brown will emphasize the lack of prudence to get so far behind in the first place.

The last two games could / should be in the W column. I agree though, much better play in the second half.

I took a friend of mine who is a Kansas alum to the basketball game last night, which was the first game I have been to in a couple of years. A few questions, and my perspective:

Questions:

What the heck happened to our sound system? I thought a couple of years ago we installed a new sound system that would allow the crowd to actually hear what the announcer was saying.

Does our scoreboard look completely outdated? I remember a few years ago we installed a new scoreboard in Moody. Or am I just getting old and remembering what I want? The scoreboard graphics were not very crisp in this age of digital.

Do we have anyone who can shoot an open jump shot?

Perspective:

I was somewhat embarrassed to have my friend at the game. I understand the students are not in school, but do they really make that big of a difference in the game day atmosphere. My friend gingerly likened the atmosphere to our high school.

I was astounded that we fell so far behind in the first half, and was equally shocked that we came all the way back from that deficit. Especially based upon our first half shooting percentage. That second half showed me what Coach Brown can accomplish with the talent that he has.

I am excited about the renovations to Moody, and am equally stoked about the incoming class Coach Brown has on the way. I am looking forward to taking my friend back to a game this same time next year so that both of us can see a stark contrast in the before and after of this program.

the scoreboard was out of date when it went in. Not sure the back story but we seem to always have trouble with scoreboards (as in seem to always get someone elses cast off's). it is a dead man walking.

sound system has been a mess for a year. its all coming out so i am sure they dont want to spend much to repair it. probably is we are getting new people in our building and they are leaving with a bad taste in their mouth.

guaranty you kansas games are slower and more h.s. in their building without students also. it will be more ramped up when the kids are back. I think it was pretty loud and exciting at the end - and i thought our crowd actually contributed to getting us back in the game. Dont think i have thought that in a long time.

We will have probably the best college basketball venue in the country in a year. It will blow people away.

I was in shock when we paid that much money for a scoreboard that was already outdated when we bought it.
Why would you buy a 4x3 standard def jumbotron when we live in an HD world?

serious waste of money - I guess they picked it out of a catalog with zero research.
