It is almost as fun to watch him off the field than on the field. During his Heisman campaign, all he was talking about was how he had made some mistakes in the past and he is trying to move past them and make more responsible decisions. Now that he won the Heisman, he is coming out saying that nothing has changed. What a [deleted].

Seneca Wallace with a better supporting cast.

Similar height & weight (5'11 SW and 6'0 JM)
Both can run (Wallace in the pros was a backup QB for a long time that also saw time as a WR)
Accurate on the move and elusive runners

The difference is this:

3-4 elite OL for Manziel
3 Senior WR's with breakaway speed and overall well rounded players + 1 promising freshman in Evans
2 very good RB's with speed

Average at best ISU slow farm boys on the Wallace OL
3 Try-hard guys at WR for ISU
Two skinny midget scatbacks without elite speed.

JM is a great player but IMO Wallace was the best comparison.

Manziel would have won more than 7 games in a season at ISU. I get what you are saying, but JM is a much better QB than Wallace.

He may be better but the only game where his OL let him down like Wallace's regualrly did was LSU and we know Manziel didn't show up for that one. Expecting him to win on a bad team with no supporting cast... come on.

Look at his losses:
Top 15 Texas who beat Saban's LSU in the Cotton
Top 10, B12 champs, Rose Bowl champs OU
Acc Champs FSU
B12 North Champs #21 CU
One of Snyder's best KSU teams
Top 20 Boise State

Manzeil gets 7 seconds to throw due to incredible OL talent for a college team. Wallace.... his team went 3-8 without him the next year with largely the same guys and gave up 8% sacks the next year. Not even comparable supporting cast.

ISU went 2-10 without him the following year. However if you are comparing book end years (which means nothing) he inherited a 9 win team from Sage Rosenfels the previous year..... Seneca was an exciting college quarterback, and has "The Run" under his belt. But I'll take Manziel.

I'm family friends with McCarney, and I have seen both Quarterback play in person. I get surrounding cast means a great deal, but Manziel is more impressive.
