Inside linebacker Ja’Gared Davis of SMU is most likely a great candidate for Dallas Day when the Cowboys bring in all the local players for a visit to Valley Ranch. I need to do some film work on this player because I think there is something there. In watching him today, I was impressed with his nose for the ball. It was rare that he was blocked and when he did get hooked up, he was off quickly. Nice awareness for his drops in coverage and when the ball came into his area, he was there for a play.

Re: JG Davis at Texas vs Nation
Most of the players invited to the Cowboys' Dallas Day are not drafted. JG will at least get a shot. He was much bigger of an impact LB than Pete Fleps and Youri Yenga, who both got their chances in camps.

Sure would like to see JG get drafted.
And since when is he an INSIDE linebacker?

Not arguing that, but I would like to point out I made those comments prior to the switch to a 4-3.PonyPlayer4 wrote:Jason B said the Cowboys aren't touching the defense in this draft..... Nowhere near Braoddus
Cowboys can't afford spencer so they need a de opposite ware.
Jd I think has a good chance late rounds because of his special teams ability

day 1 notes
LB Ja’Gared Davis, SMU (6011, 239)
Davis is a potential 3-down player at the next level, and his skills were on full display today. He has sideline to sideline range, and his ability to read and flow against the run are NFL caliber. His instincts in coverage were just as impressive. I expect him to be a late riser in the draft process.
