Emmanuel Sanders, WR, SMU / High School: Bellville (Bellville) / Class: 2005 / Rivals rating: 2 stars / When Sanders committed to SMU, the Ponies hadn’t been to a bowl game in 21 years and were coming off a season in which their leading receiver hauled in just 483 yards. But after a redshirt year to takes things in, the Bellville native wasted no time in making an impression on the Hilltop. Sanders led SMU in catches during all four of his seasons there, and finished as the Ponies’ all-time leader in receptions (285), yards (3,791) and TDs (34). Oh, and he helped end that quarter-century bowl drought as a senior.
