Re: SMU-UTEP82-73 Final.
Mays with 26 (and 7 assists), Filmore with 21. Great win! I imagine we start getting some votes this week. Shake It Off Moody
Re: SMU-UTEPHappy for the fighting Rhondas.
Going into a game like this w an opponent like utep, the standings being what they were and the upside what it is, let's face it the usual SMU thing to transpire is a loss and opportunity missed. Good job ladies and keep the run going.
Re: SMU-UTEPI was thinking the same thought. We won one when we need to, I'm on the bandwagon!
Re: SMU-UTEPSMU and Keena Mays mention in the ESPN women's basketball column today:
http://espn.go.com/womens-college-basketball/story/_/id/8912418/women-college-basketball-one-day-two-very-different-outcomes A transfer from Kansas after the fall semester last season, Keena Mays had to wait until Dec. 17 to make her SMU debut this season. She scored 23 points and has been making up for lost time ever since. Mays finished with 26 points, seven assists and five steals in Sunday's 82-73 win at UTEP. The win not only strengthened SMU's grip on first place in Conference USA but handed the Miners just their second home loss this season. Shake It Off Moody
Re: SMU-UTEPReceived votes in AP poll, but fewer than UTEP. Go figure!
Re: SMU-UTEPI was at the Haskins Center yesterday. What a win! Keena Mays is the real deal. Someone sitting behind me said she reminded him of Jareica Hughes, the former star point guard at UTEP. I don't remember much about Hughes (I usually only go to UTEP games when SMU is in town) other than the fact that she was amazingly fast. What struck me about Mays was how smooth she was. She looks amazingly calm with the ball and can shoot from anywhere. Filmore was really good, too. She's not as smooth as Mays, but the two of them really played off each other well. This team is a lot of fun to watch -- keep it going!
