On another note, what's the deal with Ronnell Sims? He looked like a hell of an athlete in his high school videos. Abilene plays at a very high level as well, correct?

Acker won't be playing WR once the season rolls around. If you listen to June's press conference, he said that Acker will play WR in the spring and possibly in fall preseason practices to allow other DBs to get reps at corner while providing competition for the WRs.

JJ knows what he has in Acker as a corner and said that he will be our starting corner when the season begins, even though he'll run some at WR in offseason training.

Don't our WR's need to be getting reps as well?

I'm sure, He, is having problems grasping the offense as well. This is just a guess of course.

I would doubt that, as he is supposed to be really smart and a good student, isn't he? Grasping the offense doesn't mean it's easy to play when learning a new position, though. Jeremy Johnson also made the transition from HS quarterback to SMU receiver and didn't do much for a couple of years, either, but now he's the team's best receiver, isn't he?

I'm interested to see what Colin Lagasse can do. Something about him jumped out when I saw his game on TV. He seems to have "it," whatever "it" is.

I couldn't agree more HAL about Lagasse. After watching that Championship game, you had to be impressed with his football instincts, leadership, and play. He certainly showed the makings of another Beasley.

It points to the idea that we should be really be using a WR as a committee approach and bringing in fresh legs every play and just overwhelming defenses. Look what happened when Joseph was given some PT. We could literally rotate 3 deep no problem. If someone gets the "hot hand" or exposes a competitive advantage for us, keep going to them in a game situation. Also provides good competition if handled correctly.
