JaBryce Taylor First Team All East Texas

this is from David Smoak who is pretty well respected in East Texas. I really really like Taylor-he is extremely good in the air something that SMU receivers weren't last year-not sure why others didn't offer. I believe he had something like 3 games with over 225 yards receiving. Trey Washington was 3rd Team at Safety

With those numbers and his size, it is curious why more teams weren't coming after him. It's nice to land receivers that starred in passing offenses, instead of the ones who barely threw the ball.

In Lufkin's playoff game this past season against Plano West, JaBryce made one of the greatest "non-receptions" I have ever seen. As he streaked down the sideline into the end zone, with a West DB all over him, JaBryce made a one-handed catch of a pass that the Lufkin QB threw about four yards out of bounds. He was unable to stay in bounds for the TD, but just catching the badly thrown ball was very impressive. Not sure why no one else was recruiting him, but you will enjoy watching him over the next four years. He needs to be given #17. He will remind everyone of ES.

Also voted on all-state teams. I'm starting to think he's one of the freshmen who could contribute early.

Great hands and good size, but not sure about his speed. Alabama had him on their recruiting sheet at WR last summer and as running a 4.7 40. I think he is faster than that, but others had looked at him for sure. Great athlete and a great young man I have been told. Speed could be the only issue.
