SMU on "National T.V." against TCU

I don't know what the saturation is for this channel, College Sports Television, but they claim national coverage for the SMU v. TCU game.

Then again, with kickoff having been moved to 8:30 PM, it might well appear to be an away game, anyway.
We need to make a deal with the devil to get a big SMU turnout. Serve beer, hold a greek party at midfield at halftime and after the game, promise to give away a bazillion dollars -- whatever. Ford Stadium has to scream "SMU" on TV.
Even with the late start, I'll be there, of course.

I feel the same way you do about away games. The reason they almost always televise home games is that Dallas is a media giant, with all the equipment / facilities and broadcasting talent right here. Over the course of the years it has seemed to me that home broadcasts have vastly outnumbered away games. Hopefully C-USA will change this some.

I sure hope so. You'd think they could televise the game at A&M -- admittedly not a media hub, but a town that only exists because of the university, so you know the local TV stations will be there -- or games in Houston, Tulsa, Birmingham, etc.

Hopefully a good recruit somewhere will see the game, and we'll give him a good showing.

I think the A&M game will be televised on some basis. If that's true, it will be the first time we had back to back games televised in a long time.

DALLAS (SMU) - The SMU-TCU football game set for Sat., Sept. 10, will be broadcast nationally on College Sports Television, SMU Athletic Director Jim Copeland announced today. To accommodate the TV broadcast, kickoff time has been moved to 8:30 p.m.

"We're certainly excited to play on national television," said SMU Head Coach Phil Bennett. "The SMU-TCU game is always a source of excitement for football fans in the Metroplex and this will give football fans across the country a chance to experience it for themselves."

This year's "Battle For The Iron Skillet" mark the 86th time the Mustangs and Frogs have met on the gridiron, with TCU holding a slim 40-38-7 series edge.

No matter what our so-called ticket "allotment" is for visiting tcu, I anticipate a large number of frogs purchasing tickets through the SMU ticket office and integrating the SMU faithful. It burns me up when somebody gives their season ticket seats to opposing fans... I've had to put up with a number of the enemy sitting in my vicinity over the last few years. It oughta be a sellout but we should shoot for a MUSTANG crowd of 25,000 vs 8,000 frogs. We need a strong campaign to insure that. Then, we NEED TO WIN the game.

They don't show anyway. I buy a cheap ticket and then sit in their 50 yard line seats at every home game.
