Bobcats buy out contract with Bison, eye game vs SMU

FARGO ? The athletic director at North Dakota State is not happy with Montana State. Gene Taylor on Saturday said the Bobcats have opted to buy out of next September's football game at the Fargodome, leaving the Bison scrambling to find an 11th opponent.

"Really angry, really disappointed," Taylor said. "Stunned. I just don't understand it."
He said MSU will pay the $100,000 exit fee to play another game, which is presumed to be against Football Bowl Subdivision Southern Methodist. Taylor said the final decision was made after Friday's announcement that the Bison will play Delaware State on Sept. 21.

We ought to play North Dakota State instead. They have traveled well to Frisco the past two years

This is just dumb and I am not a happy fan because of this decision. Whose idea was this? Really hope it was a Baylor decision to cancel the game.

Wow!!! We grossly overpay a coach to bring us back to relevance and make us competitive with top 25 teams and after 5 years he can't get the job done so he wants us to drop our old conference mates and play patsies so he can look better. Please CofC and admin. get us a coach who cares, who will be aggressive in recruiting, and who isn't a chicken-s--t when it comes to playing top level competition.

Chicken Hawk-we are just --- recruiting years away from being competitive for a BCS Bowl but we are not good enough to play a mid-level BCS program at home in Year 6 of the "June Jones Miracle". Apparently that signing date bravado we hear every year is a pile of crap. SMU is desperately trying to rid itself of a schedule that's not half as tough as TCU's schedule. What happened to overhead projector talk about SMU's ace recruiters? Reality slaps June Jones in face

June boy ain't gonna play 4 tough OOC games...much rather play Ark State, NMState, ULL, or someone regional. Montana State could easily beat us... they are a good team.

So let me get this straight, we go to the Big East, I am expecting the likes of Louisville, Boise State, Baylor on the football schedule and now two will not be in the conference and SMU is trying to move the Baylor home game this year ? Now I can look forward to possibly Montana State ? Am I understanding this correctly?
