Chill out Treadway, 2007 has a point. They're miles ahead of where we're at right now- and bball doesnt really matter unless you're absolutely killing it in basketball, which he have yet to do. And TCU has been killing it in football (which really matters) on the national stage for several years now. It's not rocket science.

Yesterday, "Thursday, the Big East was scheduled to present ESPN the terms of its potential contract with NBC Sports, according to a source."

Re: Big East TV offer
This tv deal is so sad. The fact the basketball schools are projected to be 1.5 times more than the football leave is just sad. I pray Espn puts in a little higher offer so we aren't stuck on the crap sports network but at this point it would be negligible to even take the tv offer or decline it.
Re: Big East TV offer
ESPN would just match right, wouldnt really have to go much above offer?

Re: Big East TV offer
It was never going to be that high even if no Basketball or Football schools left since SMU joined. That was just a bunch of group think from the Chearleaders of 15 schools with no basis in reality. Again not a single school in the Big East at the time was a dominant presense in any of those great TV markets. SMU is an after thought in Metroplex, just like UCF and USF in the Florida market. Why would any network pay BCS money to a conference composed of schools who are secondary alternatives, to be kind, in their own TV markets playing against schools that very few people care about in those great markets. Example, how many DFW college football fans want to see SMU play UCONN, UCF, or Cincy when they can simply turn the channel and watch the Big 12 or SEC. You could turn that around in the Eastern markets and I'm sure they could say the same thing about playing SMU or UCF rather than the Big 10 or ACC. Now on to Montana State where we can get a win that nobody cares about before 12,000.

Re: Big East TV offer
Love it how everyone is finally starting to realize how problematic our situation is... We are going to remain In the Big Least because of all of this excellent exposure and yet we go West after running from mighty Baylor when we could have scheduled an East coast opponent to help promote the brand in our new "home turf". We have a JV program with JV coaching and leadership. Say what you want about Boise St, but I applaud their leadership. They saw the writing on the wall with the Littlest Least conference and decided to use their leverage to get a sweetheart deal that is best for them regardless of what everyone else thinks. Meanwhile, we are left with the fat girls at the party wondering when our supermodel is going to show up. It just seems like every decision we make is the wrong one and it is hard to imagine that we will ever move out of obscurity with this leadership. The number of supporters should be growing within our program however I would argue that with moves like Montana State, the opposite will happen. I have had tickets since 2001 and I will not be renewing my tickets if Baylor is replaced with Montana State.

Re: Big East TV offer
Say what you want, but without a SFAustin type game on the schedule we likely wouldn't have gone to a bowl this year and likely would not sniff a bowl opportunity in 2013. The overall talent level and depth isn't what it should be at this point (another discussion), and I like the change.
Re: Big East TV offer
While I am disappointed that we dropped the Baylor game, I am much more disappointed that we stood no chance in that game, or the A&M game, in year 6 of JJ's tenure.
