Best example of that is what he's done with the running back talent he's been given here at SMU. More 1000 yard rushers here than he ever had anywhere else because.... gasp.... he adjusted.
Complete BS. Go pull the stats from Hawaii
Shawnbrey McNeal was JJ's first collegiate 1,000 yard rusher. Zach Line was his second.
Only because he usually used multiple backs, unless you are calling it an innovation to use your only competent RB every down.

I don't think there is any question he has put more emphasis on the run at SMU.

Now whether or not that is an adjustment, or because the QB play hasn't been as good as he had at Hawaii, that is up for grabs.

I would suggest though, that the addition of the TE set, recruiting a TE, putting in the zone read, and now recruiting a mobile QB are all signs of adjustment?

Okay. Someone commented that the coaches were right not to put pressure on Shead by making over him too much and I agree with that. On the other hand, to dismiss the importance of star ratings and then to talk about Shead being a former four star Longhorn recruit to me seems an example of talking out of both sides of your mouth.

Still, I'm looking forward to Shead wearing red and blue - at least in the minds of old time fans - no matter what the uniforme de la saison turns out to be and I hope in the future we remember Cayuga like we do Oxfrd. Michigan and Estonia from recent years and HP, Mt. Vernon, Sealy, and others from times past.
