I don't care who we beat. I want to see us win 8 to 10 games and then I will worry about the quality of opponent. Until we can beat Tulane and rice every year we shouldn't be complaining about the quality of the schedule.
I love guys like you. Step 1 is to win 10 games? Winning 10 games is a result not a step.
Step 1 is to build a competitive Model. Check. Step 2 is to hire a quality Head Coach and Coaching Staff. Whoa! Haven't finished Step 2 yet. This Coaching Staff has a poorly designed and executed recruiting strategy and can't get the job done in recruiting to get us to 10 wins even in CUSA. It was an ill conceived Staff from Day 1 which has been ineffective in recruiting the players needed to get to 10 wins even in CUSA. That is the difference between how SMU and TCU built their programs. Jimmies and Joes are missing. June Jones has not achieved yet what Franchione did in YEAR 1 in recruiting. So back up and stop talking about manufacturing 10 wins in the Big East. Go back and address Step 2 first and when you recruit the Jimmies and Joes come talk to me about winning 10 games in the Big East

not more embarrassing than what would have happened on the field vs. baylor.
You're a sad excuse for a fan and one of the biggest examples of the loser mentality I've come across in a while.
Agreed.
I live in Waco and obviously work with a bunch of Baylor fans. Several have said THEY bowed out of the game, while others think we did. If ponypatrick is right and it was mutual, that's probably the best, anyway.
I still think we have a shot against Teck, since it will be the first game for Kingsbury and his staff. Maybe not a great shot, but a shot. If we somehow pull that out and beat Montana State, we come out of non-conference games 2-2, which is a lot better than I feared with Baylor on the schedule and a legitimate chance that Tech could beat us and start us out in Big East games with an 0-4 record. Then throw in my optimist card, and upsetting TCU isn't out of the question. It isn't likely, especially with Casey Pachall coming back to play QB, but it's possible, I guess. Yes, the game last year was close, and who knows how much of that was because of the weather (maybe we win with good weather, as we had a ton of dropped passes and they seemed to catch everything). So is 3-1 possible? Yes. Likely? No. But putting Montana State on the schedule makes the non-conference games far more palatable.
Let's let Montana State and ND State bid against each other. Let's see a home and home with ND State before a packed Fargodome with all 15 of our Fargo alums at the game.
