but Old Pony SMU has to withstand the yearly juggernauts of the great Rice Owls, UTEP MINERS, Tulsa Hurricanes, Tulane Green Wave and Houston Cougars every single year. How can Poor SMU hope to compete? Not to mention our failure against the dreaded San Jose Spartans and Nevada Wolfpack. Its just too much to ask that we only play 3 teams from the Bottom 10 every year-WE MUST add some Division 1-AA programs in if we are to have ANY HOPE of competing. We are DOOMED! DOOMED I tell ya!.
Stallion- It is amzing how far the expctations have fallen. I believe they have fallen worse thatn smu FOOTBALL. These guys just want to win, they don't care if it is by beating a girls school or if we play the grade schoolers. They call me a loser becuase I am more pleased by a 2 touchdown loss to TT than a win over SHSU. There was no bigger loser in HS than the guy whgo wanted to play the little kids so he could win. Welcome to SMU football. If we don't fire Copeland soon, there will be nothing left to fight over.

there once was a day not long ago that the thought of a loss to TCU, Rice, UTEP and Tulsa not to mention SJSU, Nevada and Louisiana Tech was unfathomable. Now we have a losing record against all those schools except in the last 5-6 years. I'm sure we will lose some of these Southland Conference games as well.
