OT - McIlhenny family

This may not be closely related to SMU football at all. I saw a news report that the head of the family that makes Tabasco Sauce has passed away (link). He is a McIlhenny. Perhaps someone on this message board knows whether or not their is a connection between the Tabasco people and "our" McIlhenny players.

Either way, condolences to the family that has done so much for the table, and best wishes to those who have contributed to our football program.

You are correct that it is the same family. Our Mustang branch is not a part of the hot sauce fortune branch through business but the same family. The Mustangs help out the hot sauce!!!
