Simple. I haven't really heard any better ideas.

You cannot go with geography, because we are so spread. You cannot go with Big 10 or Big 12 already taken - yet they are very similar just like A-10 and A-12 would be.

Metro makes me think of metrosexual. Big Metro makes me think of a big metrosexual. not better.

We don't have a 12th team yet though. How about "American 11 Superconference". Then maybe someday we could become an "AXIS" Power.

Like SMUfrat said, they'll probably register several domains while going through the process of determining the new conference name. They might have "leaked" this one to see what the public response was

ACC may not be the one doing the raiding at that point. If, as I suspect, SEC nabs VT and NC State, B10 takes UVA and UNC, and the Big12 take FSU, Miami, GT, and Clemson, I'm not sure where the ACC goes from there. You've got:

Syracuse
