I suppose if the Big 10 can have 14 members and the Big XII can have 10, we can join the group of idiots that don't know how to name a conference. Our league will start with 10 members and grow to what...12? or 13? or will enough members constantly leave so we never play with 12? Should we commit to 12 so we can someday invite someone that you will be the 1st to complain about? Or is a number in the conference title completely meaningless?
and why do you think the Metro is so horrible? I gather you are too young to recall the original Metro Conference where Cincy, Louisville, Va Tech, South Carolina and other established programs played when they were looking for a home. That group eventually evolved into CUSA and Houston joined them when the SWC abandoned us. The Metro Collegiate Athletic Conference (or whatever the original official name was) was a pretty respectable group. I have no problem resurrecting that name or slightly modifying it to fit what our membership represents.

For many Americans, AMC Theaters is where you go to watch movies.
I think America 12 is too close to CUSA and America East
Maybe more people will come to our games thinking they are getting ready to see a great movie?
I agree the A-12 is bush league. How many members does the A-10 have these days?
Some are suggesting we incorporate "east" or atlantic" into the name. Why...because SMU and Houston are eastern atlantic schools? I like the Metro or American Metro with central and eastern divisions which could actually represent the time zones our members reside in. But then again, why interject any logic into your conference's name these days? Why not just become conference X where we play X games?
If Boise and SDSU had decided to join along with Tulsa, USM, Marshall, UTEP, BYU, AFA and Army/Navy for football only...maybe we could have kept the CUSA name as it would have really been legitimate
could have put together 3 divisions with eastern, central & western divisions setting up a 4 team playoff (division winners and wild card) to determine a football champion.
