Back from UTEP game

Postby ALEX LIFESON » Sat Mar 09, 2013 6:06 pm

Fan support---F, UTEP had almost as many fans.
Team tenacity and effort---F, Larry Brown said as much in postgame interview.
Execution---D
Three point defense---D-, we let another average 3 point shooting team light us up.
Pride---F

Very disappointing and embarrassing end to the season.

pretty much sums it up, but I would give F's all around. Embarrassing is an understatement.

The Culwell Center and the presence of our WBB team were the highlights. I hope that the collapse of the BE has not corroded the desire of the players to be here next year.

You're probably correct. These players are on $50,000 a year scholarships, they should be ashamed of that mess and made to walk back to campus.

We went through the motions today. Like we just wanted to get it over with.

yes but it started with the fans. we were awful today. its like we get outside of Moody with these weird games and nobody knows what to do and no one says a word, was the same at AAC against Okie State, at Ellis Davis that time and definitely today. the crowds at Moody have actually been pretty spirited this year, but today was brutal. Players didn't provide any spark or energy either. Hopefully leaves a bad taste and we come out hungry in the tournament.

honestly, it was poor planning by the AD. We should have asked CUSA to give us road games to end the year if a week was going to make so much difference to the construction schedule. playing at Culwell was not a good idea and is not a good venue anyway.

We did make that request and they obviously didn't care.

Aren't we playing home games next season in that facility before the Moody opens back up?

Actually, I think UTEP had more. Spring break can be a killer sometimes

We have fans in Garland, Richardson, Plano, McKinney, Allen, Frisco, Coppell etc... The game location today was closer for them than Moody. No excuses for our fans today.

Thats TOTAL BS...and not even close as SMU's attendence was 3 to 1 as we had the whole side to their 1/3 of one side...UTEP had a good crowd though and good for them ( I hope we continue this series quite frankly) , but SMU had NOTHING to cheer about and make their crowd presence known. That was a poor excuse of team effort and poor execution of any type of offense or defense. They sucked and should be embarrassed by that game and again why in the [deleted] keep a guy on the bench that CAN hit 3's and NOT let him shoot like there's no tomorrow, because guess what?... there isn't.....Brian B still has a better 3 point % than ANY one on the team with limited playing time (42.3% for the season so far) and no extended time to get in the flow of the game. Even Duke shoots 20 + 3 pointers a game...Larry Brown needs to wake up, Hall of Fame or not....he is getting outcoached IMHO...he is WAY to set in his ways. Get in this century LB with all due respect. We continue to get killed on the perimeter with no SMU defenders extending out to contest their outside 3 point shots...the word is out.
