Depth Chart
Couple of questions/observations:
CB - why is Acker not listed on the 2-deep at corner? hopefully, Richardson can work up to #1, but if Montes is outplaying him, so be it.
OL - seems in line with what a lot of people thought. Stavion Lowe noticeably absent.
LB - no surprises.
DE - McCleneghan surprises me, but guess not a lot of options.
WR - no surprises.

sorry, not trying to derail the ad revenues, but didn't see a link or notice anywhere on the football forum.PonyPride wrote:We have it linked in the "feature stories" section under the Photo of the Day on the home page. Re: Depth Chart
Acker is not playing corner so that JR, Montes, and horace get as much PT as possible, because they are all competing with Parks for that second CB position.
Barnes is missing and that is interesting. Things are set up for Minor to come in immediately at LDE and compete in the fall.
Surprised there is no Rice at either guard. Thought he would be starting.
Safety is set up for AJ Justice or a frosh to win the job in the fall.

Re: Depth Chart
This is very surprising, and I highly doubt this is how things ultimately shake out by TT. For example, where's Lincoln Richards? I doubt Montes beats out JR at CB. I'm sure Shead will come in and take the RB spot. I'm pulling for Lowe. This depth chart is pretty meaningless at this point I'm expecting/hoping. I'm really concerned at the LB spot opposite Joyner and both DE spots. And, can we have a WR step up as a go to guy please? I think JJ is a good possession type receiver and we know Thompson has jets, but not extremely reliable. Here's hoping Gaines and/or Taylor can step in and make an immediate major impact there.

Re: Depth Chart
By all accounts, Zach Wood is the odds-on favorite to take over the deep snapping job. He was Voosen's backup last year.
June Jones said on Signing Day that Acker would get a run at WR during spring workouts, but he (Jones) said Acker will be starting at CB when SMU faces Texas Tech. If he does well at WR during the spring, he'll get "some time" on offense (how much is not clear) "at some point during the season.
This is a guess, but it might be that Montes is listed at the starter at CB over J.R. Richardson because he practiced with the team all year last season while Richardson rehabbed from his knee injury. Richardson also might be limited this spring, as he sprained an ankle during offseason workouts.
Keep an eye on CB Horace Richardson. He was turning a lot of heads and was expected to get more playing time before a knee injury sidelined him for the rest of the season.
Lincoln Richard is in the OLB rotation, I think at SAM.
Not sure which players had offseason maintenance done, but those who did will take it easy (or maybe sit out) while recovering. Not sure if Barnes is one of those, but will ask.

Re: Depth Chart
Any chance of getting players current weight, height etc...?
Re: Depth Chart
Since Burcham is listed as the #2 QB, I guess this means we have written off Preston at this point?

Has there been a K.C. Nlemchi sighting recently?
There isn't one on the 2-deep.
