BTW - one of my fraternity brothers was told that the long term plan for SMU Blvd involves moving the fraternities to another location.

I heard that the long term goal is to move frat row to where the parking lot on University Blvd, across the park from sorority row. I don't know how accurate this may be, but it makes logistical sense to me

IIRC the one Avery Mays built burned down and a new one was later constructed. Don't recall ever seeing the new one - lived several years in the other one.

Your right, it was his Dad's company. However Jerry took it over, and grew the company. Unfortunately, in the construction business; if you don't continue to grow, you go out of business or get bought out.
The present building dates at least post 1974.
