Basketball Off-Season Question

Postby Digetydog » Sat Mar 23, 2013 7:27 pm

Let's say one of the Mustangs wants to take his game to another level. How would he go about getting better?
1) How much practice time is allowed? I would want as much time as possible getting coached up by Coach Brown.
2) I assume that time with the strength/conditioning coach is virtually unlimited?
3) Can he play in some sort of summer league like college baseball players can?
4) Is he allowed to play on some sort of team that might give him good coaching?
5) Pickup games: could the SMU team set up pickup games against UNT or UTA at the Acme Rec Center?
Do unto others before they do unto you!!

At the practice open to season ticket holders, LB talked extensively about his off season plans for the players. Sounds like he's going to have individualized plans for players and is going to work to have to break up the hours available into a whole lot of mini practices instead of fewer longer practices. Said he wants to go on as many international trips as is possible and will target Europe so they'll be exposed to a lot of good international players. Sounds like Jankovich has a lot of input and control over the offseason and is really taking the task seriously....don't remember a lot of details but he talked about the offseason extensively.
