Re: Greeks Disapear From Campus !The other thread about this has disappeared, boo hoo on the mods.
GO MUSTANGS!
Re: Greeks Disapear From Campus !Sorry — some pretty nasty comments back and forth about different houses and the members of each.
This isn't a greek life board even when the comments are just about how many pledges each house got, and it would be inconsistent and unfair, to say the least, to allow that kind of rhetoric. Thanks for understanding. PonyFans.com ... is really the premier place for Mustang talk on the Web.

Re: Greeks Disapear From Campus !But it certainly is a board about the law school dean, the band, and who has the best hamburgers.
Re: Greeks Disapear From Campus !
So what exactly is the "Around the Hilltop" section for? Can we please get a list of approved topics of discussion?
Re: Greeks Disapear From Campus !
How about media coverage of all this recent hoopla? The press really does seems to have it out for SMU Greeks. They get more coverage than SMU athletics. It's shameful.
Re: Greeks Disapear From Campus !It's funny how all these threads keep getting deleted.
Derail the Frogs!
Re: Greeks Disapear From Campus !Threads get deleted when personal insults start to fly back and forth, and threads regarding greek life always lead to that. Even when someone just starts talking about how many new members each house recruits in a given semester, a lot of people tend to revert back to stereotypes they remember from when they were in school, etc.
The Around the Hilltop board is for things SMU-related that do not spark such sensitive (and subsequently personal) reactions. We have run this board for a long time, and greek life, politics, religion, etc., always tend to generate such responses because people feel strongly about their beliefs ... and they should. This is not an invitation to test the limits. Please remember that we have jobs, families, etc., and are not here to babysit. Use common sense. If you have questions, feel free to ask a moderator via Private Message, but do not keep bringing up the hot-button topics that set people off. We grant a lot of latitude with topics that are related to SMU, and for the most part, that latitude is appreciated and respected. Thanks. Re: Greeks Disapear From Campus !man, i for one and happy to not have this board get into a useless frat/sorority smack down. who cares. time to grow up. if you want to to do that and you have graduated, then you have some peter pan issues.
Re: Greeks Disapear From Campus !Sounds like someone's a gdi
Re: Greeks Disapear From Campus !I wasn't in a frat but I recognize the benefits and incentives to join one. I simply couldn't afford it. However, I had several friends that were in various frats and I never really felt as though they were a negative part of the SMU community. College kids are going to party and have fun. Some will be very stupid. This has been the case since the dawn of time. I am glad SMU has a strong Greek scene as I think it helps to build a sense of community within the larger SMU student population.
Back off Warchild seriously.
Re: Greeks Disapear From Campus !Why not designate the Montana State game as a TOGA OUT. This would obviously induce the Greeks to the game. Toe-Ga, Toe-Ga, Toe- Ga.
Smustatesman aka NUKE......I procreate and I vote.
Re: Greeks Disapear From Campus !2007 - nope - was in a fraternity and loved it - was great stuff. Just not sure why graduates would get involved in posting smack about other fraternities on an SMU sports board. Thats kind of pathetic.
