I think a corporate sponsor name and auction it off to the highest bidder. FedEx Conference, SW Airlines Conference, American Express Conference, Mesa Petroleum Conference, Exxon-Mobil Conference. Since the NCAA has been whoring itself out for years, we might as well be the first to take it to the next level. Just avoid sponsorships from Redman Tobacco or Altria.

So, the likely commerical sponsor is Metropolitan Life?

FEDEX would actually be the smart choice. Brand identity, central location, FEDEX Forum, Tournament site, etc.

The swc is a much cooler name if we are gonna revive a former conference. Who cares if its geographically inaccurate.

I would be ok with a presenting sponsor. Just have tv broadcast always refer to us as the FedEx Metro Conference.

To me the initials AMC remind of a failed / merged / no longer extant auto manufacturer. I hope the final result won't carry those initials.

i kind of like big america conference. retains the big.

Whatever it is, would make sense to have a 3 letter conference like SEC, PAC, ACC, MWC, WAC, etc.
