Margus invited to the draft
Not sure if this has been posted yet, but it's mentioned in the article below that Margus is one of 19 players invited to the draft. Awesome news for Margus and good publicity for SMU!

Re: Margus invited to the draft
good article, too.
being a draft analyst seems like a pretty good job, just like a weatherman.
you don't need to be right all the time, or even most of the time, to be wildly successful.

Might actually have to watch the draft now that Margus has been invited.

Could be in the green room a long time. What happens if he doesn't get drafted during Thursday prime time?

Re: Margus invited to the draft
They used to invite on 5 ot 6 every year, but they recently expanded it to about 20 high profile players. They pick people that they assume will go in rounds 1 and 2 and possibly as late as 3. So long as he and all these others guys are selected on day 1 or 2, thats completely normal

Re: Margus invited to the draft
they don't invite people that they think will go in the 3rd round. The fact that he has been invited means that he will likely go in the first round.

It says they invited EJ Manuel too. I would be stunned if he goes in the first round.

Prepare to be stunned then. He's 6'4 and fast with a good arm, I'd take him over Geno Smith and Matt Barkley any day of the week.

Re: Margus invited to the draft
Mel Kiper and Todd McShay now both have Margus going to SF with the 31st pick in round 1.
I actually think it would be a really solid landing spot for him to learn behind Justin Smith

EJ Manuel? Personally I don't he is good enough to carry Geno's jock.
