It is said that patience is a virtue. If that really is the case, SMU safety Hayden Greenbauer was due to enjoy a run of good luck after waiting nearly three seasons for his chance to play a regular role in the SMU secondary. The former scout team quarterback and holder for kicks took over a starting safety position late in 2012 and became a key cog in the SMU defense, even scoring on an interception that put the SMU defense in the NCAA record books. Greenbauer visited with PonyFans.com to discuss his long wait, his record-tying touchdown in SMU's win over Fresno State in the Hawaii Bowl and his expectations for the 2013 SMU defense.
