Oregon needs to get realistic about their self imposed violations. 2 years and loss of 1 scholarship over each of next 3 years is laughable. That's why NCAA disagreed and its going to NCAA infactions committe. Buying recruits is going to be treated much harder than excess benefits to players already on campus by boosters

That is amazing that Oregon self-imposed such a minor penalty. Geez, what did they expect?

As much as I would love to see the penalties match the infractions, I have no expectation of the NCA doing anything close to that. They will add a lot of monitoring type stuff to 'prevent' it happening in the future and nothing of real consequence.

As the violations have become worse over the last ten or so years, SMU's infractions of the 80's seem less & less. How sports & society in general have changed - for the worse. Oh well. That's life.

For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.

Portland State should be very worried. The NCAA will wrist slap Oregon, maybe take away a bowl for a year, but Portland State will get whacked. And of course Kelly goes on to a paying job with the Eagles.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna

They need to have some way of penalizing the coaches of these teams with violations. I don't know how they could do it, but Kelly boosts his stock with illegal recruiting, gets a huge job, and the school and players still there take the hit.

What 'hit'? That remains to be seen in today's college football climate for any major conference team.

they do-its called a Show Cause Order. You can't hire them if they don't show cause for 10 years. There are 44 Basketball Coaches presently with Show Cause Orders including for example Dave Bliss, Kelvin Sampson, Bruce Pearl. Also noteworthy Football Coaches Jim Trussell and John Blake
