TCU to Spend 45 Million to build Barn

I love what TCU did to Amon Carter but this Basketball facility from the outside is particularly ugly. Kind of reminds me of Lubbock Memorial Coliseum (the Barn) built in the 40s.

I don't know. Looking at pictures 2,3 & 4, if they can make each of those levels spin it would be kind of cool.

Lipstick on a pig. They need to demo the current dump and build a new place. Uta's new place will still be the best arena in Tarrant County.

Weird. Are they going for an art deco look? Looks great for a Route 66 museum but not an inspiring arena

Anti-TCU bias aside, I can't stand the completely round arenas. Fans are too far away from the court.

I get that, but SMU was starting with a building that was outstanding, but showing its age and in need of renovation. Buildings with character get renovated.

In contrast, TCU is starting with a round arena that has no character, flat sightlines or redeeming quality of any kind. Just like nobody renovates a 1972 Pinto Wagon, nobody renovates crappy buildings to the tune of $45-50m.

TCU is going to spend $50m and end up with the 2nd best college arena in Tarrant County.

Not that i want them to change it since i think it creates a permanent recruiting advantage for us, but renovating a round arena like DM is nuts. They might as well pile up 45M on the table and light it on fire. They would be better advised to increase their scholarship money by 45M so they can buy themselves some better students.
