Sounds like Bernardi is headed to the NBA for sure as a 1st round lock then. I am still gad SMU got Frazier.

even if coach loves BB, the question remains whether he will want to stick around as a role player and still face the possibility of being recruited over next year. I haven't seen Blaise play, but the final spot obviously comes down to him or BB.

Frazier is a very good player, but what many of you are missing is that he's gonna play 3 positions, so its not BB vs KF. I'd expect Frazier to run some SF and back-up PG. He could end up starting at the 3 over Manuel and Head, or he may play no D whatsoever. Tough to tell. What he does bring is street cred that SMU needs, which is far more important than anything he does on the court.

i agree its not KF vs BB - since KF is a very versatile player and BB can only play the 2. My opinion is just based on three things - BB almost never made his own shots - but has to be a wide open spot shooter, he is not great on D although i do think he improved, and he is not a great rebounder - due to foot speed he has to start down the court on D early and can't give the rebound a very good look.

Yes he works hard and is seemingly a good guy - but i think as deep as this team has gotten that the spot shooter may not be retained. If we are thin anywhere it is inside - so if it is Blaise or BB for a spot i think it goes to Blaise.

I like BB - just think he may be odd man out here.

You couldn't be more wrong about Bernardi on the glass. He was a very good positional rebounder this past year. In fact, other than shooting, it was what he did best.

Nobody is saying the kid is all world, but this is a program that has 13 rides. Not all of those need to go to kids who even play. Some should go to kids who will graduate. At our depth level, attrition is going to be massive, and kids like Bernardi aren't who you need to worry about. Its the Sterling Browns who may or may not see the court.

Also, how are we thin inside even w/o Blaise? We have Markus, Jalen, Cannen, Moore and Moreira. That's 5 deep at the 4 & 5. If anything we need a back-up PG

I think Frazier will be a heck of a SG along with Russell making them a good tandem.

With so much turnover in college, how do teams manage graduation rates to keep from getting the Uconn experience?

No matter who leaves, almost 100% of the team (and recruits) left by Doh will have left before graduation. Are we going to be facing the Uconn experience with all this turnover?

RT @EJSports4: Confirmed: #SMU hoopsters Blaise Mbargorba, Jordan Dickerson and Uche Ofoegbu have asked for their release and intend to transfer

I guess now we know. Good luck to these young men. I appreciate all the work they put in for SMU while they were here.

8 months ago I doubt many thought Blaise would be let go.

Is this more a reflection on the incoming talent or Blaise?
