I wish I went to Cougar High because I dread this high paying career I've had for so long.

NO Coog fan wants to play at BBVA because it is too small. Hence why our new stadium is somewhere between 40-45k starting off.

1. When you lose to a FCS school, bragging about the size of the crowd doesn't bolster your case.
2. What, you don't even know the size of your new stadium? Since it will smaller than Rice's current capacity, you may want to pipe down about it.
3. Based upon UH's average attendance in 2012 (more relevant than 2011), BBVA Compass should fit quite nicely for those three games.
4. For a little perspective, check out: http://www.datafy.me/analysis/college-f ... ttendance/ and http://www.mindspring.com/~tbgray/uhwinatt.htm

It does when the subject is on attendance and proving a point.
2. What, you don't even know the size of your new stadium? Since it will smaller than Rice's current capacity, you may want to pipe down about it.
It may be slightly smaller than Rice's but unlike Rice, we will actually fill ours up. Also, considering you had to build a tiny 31k seat stadium is pretty telling. If we had such attendance woes, we would have built another 32k seater just like The Rob.
3. Based upon UH's average attendance in 2012 (more relevant than 2011), BBVA Compass should fit quite nicely for those three games.
What part of it only has 22k capacity do you not understamd? In spite of last year's performance, we never dipped under 27k which makes BBVA way too small. Jesus, it's simple math.

That second link was written in the mid 2000s and has no relevance on today. That first link was quite useful showing the contrast between Houston and SMU's attendance.

The attendance thing really is stupid. When you accept anyone with a pulse and have 40,000 students you probably should get a little attendance bump in that regard. SMU has 6,500 students and hasn't had the breakthrough success of a 10 win season or a Heisman contender like UH has had in the last few years.

SMU's attendance issues are real and I get that, but for a school of its size and the history of sucking over the last 25 years prior to JJ, I think we are making progress. Its slow progress but we are getting there. SMU needs a few quality wins over opponents our fans care about and 10 win season along with a really fun team to watch. So far we've had none of those.

If we had TCU, A&M, Baylor, and Tech on our schedule back to back to back. We would bring the house with 40-50k of Coog fans alone. Those games alone should also appeal the city of Dallas to come out and buy a few tickets, I don't get why it doesn't other than SMU not embracing the average Dallas citizen and viceversa.

UH was only able to break 40k in the SWC days when the other team traveled in force. UH has grown their base but your numbers are overly optimistic IMO.

1. What, the point is a lot of people saw you lose to a FCS school? Congrats!
2. First you get the capacity of Ford wrong, then you call it tiny. Here's a clue, when UH's new stadium is finished, it won't be considered "large".
3. Wrong, UH had several games below 27K last year. Since you claim to master simple math, go back and review the boxscores. (Hint, start with the Tulsa game)
4. Actually, the second link is quite instructive. Since you claim UH will be drawing 40K regularly, you should understand where that fits in the modern history of UH football.

Arguing with Cougar King is pointless. On the AAC boards, he tried to imply that Louisville would be unable to stop mighty Houston's offense. That's the definition of a troll.

He said Louisville. You should apply trolling to the actual comment you quote. Not a very good troll job.

That doesn't make any sense nor would KHOU put anything like that about UH on air. Just stick to being a soccer mom and leave the pissing contest to those who know what they're doing.

It's the same one that dropped 42 on you and had a chance to comeback until JJ got scared and started running the ball.

A team that gives up 38 points a game, scores 63 points in one game, 50 in another and STILL LOSES shouldn't butt into any quarrel.

I'll have to side with Cougar King on the subject of BBVA being too small for one of their home games.

also, as to this

A&M game was a sellout.

When we play teams that SMU fans and Dallas sports fans care about, we draw well.

tough to believe that game was a sellout or that the attendance numbers weren't inflated. There were tons of empty seats, most in the endzone and in the temporary seats that were built. On top of that, A&M probably brought at least half the people that were in the stadium.

of course, a lot of those empty seats were probably due to SMU charging $95 dollars a pop regardless of where you were sitting.
