I find it interesting just because of how much margus was connected to the niners pre-draft. I guess they thought they could create another Margus?
This guy has pretty insane measurables, but not as crazy as margus was and with the amount of time it took margus to develop, who knows if it'll work out.

Football gonna give a huge blow to discus if either of them prove successful in NFL. Average discus champion is like 6 ft 6 or 7, super strong and explosive fella. In US ppl like this end up as NFL linemen. In track and field they throw discus instead. But money in NFL is literally hundreds of times bigger. I mean in discus there pretty much is no money, period. If you are like world class, u will get some sponsors and some goverment money so u can train full time and don't need to work next to it, but hardly anything to set aside for future type. Even as olympic winner, once u finish ur career, it will be time for you to get a real job and right away.
Anyways I'm quite sure the english kid is there cause he heard of Margus. And this is 2 of the more promising young talents in this sport gone already. I mean if either of them do good in NFL, then word among the younger throwers has to get out about those 2 blokes earning the big bucks there while I'm just throwing here for fun. And more may realize how much their athlelitic abilties are actually worth in US, something most of them have no idea of.
Besides some college and NFL scouts might realize that there is this pool of athletes outside of US with the freakish athletic abalities usually worth a early round draft pick or 5 start recruit status, doing their own thing without even knowing the excistance of a sport called football and that they could be good and very valuble in it. So I could perhaps see some poaching taking place and some scouts keeping an eye for such track and field events
For example in Estonia discus currently is strong - olympic medal from last 3 olympics including 1 gold. But with the Margus getting drafted story being so hyped up in local media here, it becomes difficult to think what sport will next big strong kid from small town decide to do and it might not be discus.

Christian Okoye threw discus. He wandered into football after the wonderful Nigerian federation screwed him out of an Olympic team spot.
