Is TCU locked in for a while or will that go away eventually?

My mistake, I forgot about that.
Apparently Baylor is scheduled through 2019 but why is TCU only through 2017? http://www.fbschedules.com/ncaa/conf-us ... stangs.php
Hope the bowl games are interesting because the OOC schedules look the same 2015 and onward.

Essentially nothing to gain and a lot to lose. Keep setting that bar as low as possible.

It'll be a sad day for me when we stop playing TCU. The one year we didn't play them was enough. Unfortunately TCU has a lot less incentive to continue the series than us.
I too am surprised we signed for 12 years to play UNT. I like the game, but 12 years is a long time. Things can change between now and then.

Interesting that TCU is trying to play more of a "national" schedule as the said in the DMN after their arrangement with Minnesota and yet we want Baylor and NTSU on the schedule every year......

It saddens me but there is growing sentiment in Fort Worth that TCU should play SMU much less frequently after the current contract expires.

TCU has clout nationally so they can get programs to play at their stadium. We wouldn't be able to get any national program of note (one that would fill up Ford) to play us at Ford. We have a problem filling up our stadium and getting our fans to travel so we need to keep our OOC schedule completely confined to games in the state of Texas.
They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security

Take a look at their conference schedule and take a look at ours. They have a bunch of regional games in their conference. Our conference is very spread out compared to theirs, so the decision to schedule regional ooc games is likely based on that difference.

Exactly. If you schedule teams perceived to be up then the other teams' fans will be saying that, if you schedule teams perceived to be down then your own fans will be saying it.

I doubt there is a big buyout for either team.

What does Tulane have to do with this anyway?
