Re: Dickerson Screwed Again
Bosworth didn't admit to anything. He got caught. And the fact he got caught and had lied about steroid use is a reason to keep him out. It really isn't that dissimilar to other athletes caught using banned substances.
Not gonna defend Tolbert, but if OJ Simpson and Billy Cannon can be in the HOF, then what is the standard?

Re: Dickerson Screwed Again
Dayne over Dickerson is insane. Don't put the Heisman in the conversation, either. Dickerson should have won it in 1982, when Herschel Walker took it home.
Besides, look at the list of candidates to challenge Dayne in 1999:
1. Dayne -- ran better than you'd expect for a fat guy but was aided by a typically loaded Wisconsin offensive line
2. Georgia Tech QB Joe Hamilton -- running QB who didn't throw for 1,000 yards
3. Virginia Tech QB Michael Vick -- probably should have won it, but was just a freshman
4. Purdue QB Drew Brees -- good college player, but much better pro
5. Marshall QB Chad Pennington -- good, not great
6. Florida State WR Peter Warrick -- college star who had as legitimate a claim as anyone on the list
7. Alabama RB Shaun Alexander -- meh ...
8. Virginia RB Thomas Jones -- decent NFL career, but nobody remembers him as a college player
9. Penn State LB LaVar Arrington -- probably the best player in the country, but State Penn didn't hype its players like Notre Dame does, so he didn't get the pub, and it almost never goes to defensive players
10. LaTech QB Tim Rattay -- he'd have to throw for 100,000 yards in a season to get the award at LaTech

Re: Dickerson Screwed Again
Didn't Dayne at the time break the career record for rushing yards in college? If so, no problem with Dayne but ED should have made it long ago imo. Again, I think this is more about voting against the SMU scandal than voting against ED.
