BTW it was under Dave Smith when the payola first began. In truth Meyer probably perfected it and then Collins lost control of it.

Mean or not mean, I think Stallion has hit the nail on the head with respect to the payola migration.

Yeah, if I remember right, it was $5 for a BIG HIT which made a major
difference in the game. I hear the horns were getting $7 for the same
play.

Got us on probation BIG TIMEaround 1976. BCS schools get slapped on
the wrist now days for much worse offenses without any real
penalty.

PlanoStang, that one is awesome.
At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

the kick'em stang logo is one of the best ones ever from the glory yrs of the 30's thru the early 50's!!! (one on the bottom)

that is one of the ones (along with the mid-60's standing mustang) the marketing yahoos should have selected!!!

i would be willing to bet these logos never came up in those focus groups!

btw - rayburn /
where did u get your logo? what era???

I downloaded that ornery old hoss from the Internet awhile back and cleaned it up a bit.

I love that scrawny, angry old Pony, nothing says SMU more than a kick in the pants from his mighty hoof!

Mr. Mustang,

One thing we can agree on is that Stallion is mean.
